Monday
Wake up hoarse and a bit foggy. We drive to NW Seattle to pick up Catherine. She suggests the Original Pancake Hose in Ballard. I order Swedish pancakes with lingonberries and Dan loves his corned beef! We have a very nice visit. Catherine is retiring Wichita in the fall, going to GDB San Rafael on Jan 21, 2018. She is 10.
We may see lovely Catherine en route to Sedro in July if her camping trip falls through. And we will both be in Paris on Sept. 21!
She return her home and we head to our cruise ship, Ms Amsterdam.
Boarding is easy. Dan has ordered a carnation bouquet for our cabin! We settle in to our room 3424 with an obstructed view then head to the Lido for the salad bar, coffee and two chocolate desserts.
We unpack and head to the muster drill. I get a call from GDB saying Pilgrim has settled in nicely. I so appreciate that!!
We sail, cocktails in hand. Its chilly so I enter the Isolation Booth aka Penalty Box or sin bin;)
Then we watch the MSNBC news. We have no internet.
We go to the Ocean Bar and music with a Tanqueray martini cocktail and then dinner.
Quinoa and pomegranate app, chilled berry soup, steelhead with cilantro pesto and Swiss chard.
There is a jewelry shop drawing we do not win...
Dan saves me from a collison with another passenger by grabbing me quickly, ( then apologizes for the grab, which I am fine with. I was watching another passenger whose face registered shock;)
Then a violin piano duo and water nightcap at the Adagio and its bedtim
