Awake to plugged nostrils at four. Blow and read while Dan dozes. "Stir up in--------, the gift of------."

A Strange phrase from the past permeates the space.(me.  Compassion.)



Dan wakes me at 8:30,after  a quick shower and we arrive at breakfast. I'm having caffeine;) half grapefruit, forest mushroom eggs benedict and a chocolate croissant. Dan doesnt order as well so he gets half the egg dish in exchange for a slice of turket bacon which I glaze with apricot jam. Yumm



We hang out on deck watching the shores as we pull into Juneau. At 11 we attend the culinary arts cooking salmon show. It's back outdoors to read and off to lunch at 12:30.

We ate by the pool from the salad bar. Mine is a chicken Caesar with artichoke hearts, kidney beans and mac nuts, a bit eclectic:)then Dan and I share a serving of ricotta spinach lasagna. Its so so.



Juneau is beautiful; sunny and sixty five. We have a walking tour scheduled at 2:30, just enough time to scour 'main street' for cocktail napkins, which we find!!




Then we spot Patrick and three others who comprise our group. It's very good and we end at the Alaska Hotel sampling Alaska beers.(Amber, whit, APA)




Up the street we return to a gin distillery we have passed: Amalga. I have a martini and Dan two Tom Collins. We buy a bottle. This gin is distilled with devils club, rhubarb, spruce tip, and wild blueberry.


Tiring we are! We head back to our ship but need a bite since dinner is at 7:15. Tracey's Crab Shack is the answer! Two king crab legs are the best food i have ever tasted! For $27.00




Back to 3424 to dress for a light dinner. I choose raspberry soup and grilled halibut with asparagus. And a chablis. Dan choose salmon with four salsas and a pinot noir.


We are still considering chocolate when an avalanche chocolate cake is offered. We share it!

Then its outdoors to watch for a missing passenger and make a few laps as the sun sets. Its 9:30 when we sail.


I enjoy an epsom salt soak of geranium and lavender and crawl into bed to read.

Such a fantastic day in Juneau;)

Dan took Pilgrim to Guide Dogs for the Blind after we went to yoga and took a walk. My heart is being ripped out. Intentionally, Dan drops me off at DejaVu to shop. I spend $18.00 on. Two cocktail dresses, sunglasses and two pr of socks. Walking home my heart still greives. . .  Dan and I pack, plant tomatoes and the pink striped clematis and nasturtiums. Then I dusted and watered plants and prepped for dinner, its hash. Dan went to Freddys to but Mark West Pinot Noir for our cruise wine. I called tom and will write a check before we go.

We slept deeply, only a minor wakeful period at three, coughing hoarsely. I awake at 8, shower and rouse Dan. All shades of grey envelop us: sea, waves, sky, fog, awareness of our last 24 hours. We eat the Full English breakfast, sharing banger, and egg. I love the beans and broiled tomato with rasher and egg, a bowl of berries. We walk our mile with the Walk for the Cure participants. We expressed interest but never signed up. The walk was pleasant with nifty fifty tunes.. Dan feels tired enough he wants to nap. In the explorers lounge i read Doig and he slumbers. It is Sunday and the text is John 4:5-42 about the woman at the well. Aside from meditation the narrative by Jan Richardson is rich in water imagery. Mothers Day

Church w Phil Yokers pastor and a meal of beef stew and pumpkin bars to Martha. We drive North. A typical Spring day with showers. We plan to lunch at the Lucky Dragon in Kalama, the line out the door sends aclear message. Sunday We make a pit stop at Subway to satisfy our hunger and we are back on the road with our 60/50 Starbucks coffee! We arrive in Kirkland and check into La Quinta Bellevue. Seattle is so pretty and every green under the rainbow is luminous in the light rain. The rhodies are beginning to bloom! After checking in we drive to Russell and Rosalies home. After an hour they pop the pizzas into the oven. There is also a big salad, bowl of watermelon and chocolate cream pie. We shared a bottle of Sagelands Merlot. Its a fun evening!!  We take our leave at eight. I have become hoarse and am tired. To sleep instantly with the help of a melatonin
